Founded in 2016 by Nashville music industry veteran Shawn Pennington, Pennington's has quickly become the premier restaurant and entertainment venue in the Ohio Valley offering amazing food and an intimate 'up close and personal' dining and entertainment experience with award-winning iconic artists performing just a few feet from your seats! 

Shawn's family has been rooted in the surrounding area since they "came over on the boat from Ireland" in the 1830s. 

"Though I've never lived here full time, I spent my weekends and summers here growing up" says Pennington.  "Ive been blessed, my career has taken me all over the world multiple times,  I've seen and experienced things I never dreamed of...but the Jewett/Scio/Tappan Lake area has always been HOME!  Anytime anyone has ever asked me where my favorite place I've ever traveled to the answer has always been the same, Harrison County, OH!  This is a special place with an amazingly dedicated and caring community!"

In 2015, Shawn and longtime friend, Pennington's general manager Pete Koch helped to organize a concert in a nearby community for its 200th Bicentennial Celebration.  It was that event that brought forth the realization of how starved the Ohio Valley was for quality, national level entertainment and it was the moment that Shawn and Pete adopted the mantra of "If you build it they will come" from the iconic movie Field of Dreams.  Just a few months later on January 1st, 2016 Pennington's  in Jewett, OH opened it doors!

It took a few more years to grow the restaurant, remodel the interior, improve the product and most importantly assemble the right 'team' of people that could execute at the highest level before they could begin bringing in national acts.  And just when they were ready.....COVID!  The team at Pennington's were forced to press 'pause' for a year and a half and wait it out just like the rest of the world.  The moment the state of Ohio reopened it doors they immediately went to work on booking talent.  Nearly every week since July 2021 you can find award winning talent gracing their stage!

Shawn continues "We wanted to create a dinner and a show experience that you can't get anywhere else, and help to turn Jewett, OH into a destination, a whole evening experience for our ticket buyers.  We have succeeded very quickly, and now it is our obligation to continue to improve, grow, and deliver the best experience we can for our valued customers who have become incredibly loyal to our brand and not let them down!  THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING of what we have planned!"
